Depending on the site and works involved, the infrastructure may need to be reviewed against the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Water Industry Act 1991, the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, and, for building work in England, Approved Document H to the Building Regulations covering drainage and waste disposal.
Where a facility discharges trade effluent to a public sewer, the project team must also consider relevant consent requirements under the Water Industry Act.
