With almost 40 years of experience, we understand the needs of manufacturing plants, food production facilities and temperature-controlled distribution sites. Our team delivers structural solutions for process pipework, refrigeration lines, compressed air systems, water services, gas pipework and cable containment. We design each structure around the facility’s layout, loading requirements and access needs. In addition, we consider safe inspection and maintenance over the long term.
Pipe bridges and gantries connect utilities between buildings and carry refrigeration pipework between plant rooms and cold stores. They also route process services across production areas and support electrical containment systems. In addition, they maintain safe clearance over access roads, service yards and HGV routes.
Design development considers structural loads from pipework, insulation and fluid contents. It also considers thermal movement, maintenance access, safe working clearances and integration with existing buildings and infrastructure.
Our team designs structural steel elements to the relevant standards for steel structures. These include applicable parts of BS EN 1993 Eurocode 3, where required.
Where relevant, our team delivers projects in line with applicable UK legislation and safety requirements. This may include the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. For qualifying pressure systems, we also consider the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000.
Many pipe bridge installations take place within live industrial environments. During these works, production, refrigeration and logistics operations must continue.
Ambrey Baker carefully plans each project, including phased installation, temporary service support and lift planning. Where needed, we also coordinate with mechanical, refrigeration and electrical specialists. This helps our team complete the works safely and with minimal disruption.
